August 30th – September 6th, 2009
The eighth manifestation of this course (which can be translated as the International Choral Course of Rimini and has attracted a good number of anglophones) will be held between these dates in 2009. The essential layout of the classes and rehearsals is similar to those on the TSSS courses, including warm-ups and singing lessons with Ghislaine Morgan, though the overall pace, related to the comparative levels of heat and temptation actually to enjoy the food, is slower.
The programme will be entitled ‘Treasures of Spanish Polyphony’ and include:
- Guerrero: Simile est Regnum Caelorum
- Alonso Lobo: Missa Simile est Regnum Caelorum
- Victoria: Seniores Populi
- Victoria: Tamquam ad Latronem
- Morales: Regina caeli a 6 voci
Also Ubi caritas and Tenebrae factae by Vytautas Misknis, who will also be teaching on the course.
There will two concerts this year, on Friday 4th September in Urbino; and on Saturday 5th September as usual in Rimini. We shall also sing High Mass in the Tempio Malatestiana on the morning of the 6th, as the final event.
